Intellectual Orgy

I didn’t get to bed last night til 4 AM… I am a bit tired today… I woke up to an empty house… Doug had gone to work and Lyse had packed up and left by the time I got out of bed… Sadness!

A bunch of people came at various times and dinner was served at around 5 :30… Doug made some really good mashed potatoes to go with the meatloaf I made… We only got to sample 2 different kinds because one of them made a bid for freedom and fell to the floor… but the Americas Test Kitchen meatloaf was the better of the two (Sorry Mom!)

I got some very nifty presents including an AWESOME T-shirt from Greyduck and Kylanath, new Martini Glasses and Lemon Drop mix from Jeb and Kaci, a Meatloaf CD from Teresa and her girls, Dragon Quest VIII from Lyse, a homemade cake from bethie, a dinner date from Leopoldo and some “homemade” art from Brian and Jesse… I must say that Brian and Jesse’s present was the most original and hilarious *laugh*

Donkey Konga was played by several people and I am sorry that I missed that… Mario Party 7 was also played and I did REALLY bad at it… We played Scene it and Geoffrey, Lyse and I won… I thought it was a fun game, personally… We played Commotion, but that degenerated into a debate between me and Jesse about how specific is TOO specific… Most everyone headed home after that except for bethie, Brian and Jesse… We played Settlers of Catan and it was one of the closest Settlers games that I have been in with 4 people…

Thank you to everyone who came to the party and thank you to all of the people who sent well-wishes… I wish Lil wasn’t down with a migraine — we missed having her there! I would love to have another gathering and maybe I’ll have everything prepped early so I can be a better hostess…

I am so lucky to have such good friends!
