The always innovative Lilith found this site where your cats can have their own websites… So, of course I had to tag along!!

Go visit Ming and The Colonel at Catster!! I also put up a memorial page for Jimmy Dunn, which is kinda creepy and morbid of me, but I didn’t want him to feel left out… and I like to think that The Colonel would want her buddy on the site, too…

UPDATED I am seriously thinking of getting the Catster Plus thing… I am such a sucker *laugh*

The cute guy at my part-time job that I have a total raging crush on is much much too young for me to have said crush on him… He is only 20 years old, but damned if he isn’t just the funniest guy… It also doesn’t hurt that he and I have a buttload in common… We established a connection in the anime department, though he is way more into it than I am… He told me that he became an ordained ULC minister this week (Like 90% of the other people in Portland) and went to Salem to pay his $6 to be recognized by the stste… Then I find out that he worked in theater, so is knowledgeable about stagecraft and musicals (which I love)… Then I find out that he is a major Browncoat so we have been making Firefly jokes at each other… And then on Friday, someone mentioned the name Loki and he said, “Isn’t that a god of mischief?” and I piped up with “Well, he is known in Norse mythology as The Trickster” and he responds with, “You know what the greatest game ever played is? Nordic Stickball.” Yes, he is into the SCA, too…

It is scary how much we have in common… I wish to the Gods that he and I could hook up cause I think that would be so fun!! I think he would be a fabulous second boyfriend… Hee hee!!

Speaking of second boyfriends, I am sort of flirting with a guy on OK Cupid… let’s hope he is as fun and funny as he seems there… not that we’ve arranged to meet or anything, but at this point I have high hopes *grin*

And finally for all of my bibliophile friends, I hope that you are aware of the Wordstock Festival going on next weekend… I love the little pins they are giving away at Borders and Powell’s… I took 3 (but I wanted SO many more!!):

* Tom Sawyer is my homeboy
* I like painfully brutal honesty

and my personal favorite:

* I like books more than people

If you need more info, visit the website!

So is there any chance that my faithful readers who enjoy attending SCA events will be going to The Gathering or the 40 year event? I so want to pounce this guy and an SCA event would be just the place! *grin* Please please please? hee hee!

PS – Sometimes, farts are just funny, no matter how old you are. Seriously. I found this out tonight.

So, my Thingie has moved digs from the bowels of the Evil Empire to the heart of GreyDuck’s house… Hence my (not-so) triumphant return! It’s been a little more than 2 weeks and a lot has happened since then! Or, rather, it feels like a lot has happened!

Things have been crazy busy in my life… I’ll try to sum it up as succinctly as possible, but it will likely ramble on for a while… That’s just how I am, after all…

I ended up getting hired at the Sony Store and I agreed to work the closing shift all week, so I am tired as hell… There’s something about working from 7 AM til 4 PM at the office, running home to change and see Doug for 20 minutes and then running out to get to the mall in time for my other job and then getting out of there at 10:30 PM that makes me tired *grin*

It’s a fun job and they have lots of cool stuff that I just have to have, but I really could have done with some training… On my first day, my boss gave me some keys and a headset and put me on the salesfloor with about 10 minutes worth of training… They are REALLY lucky that I am a fast learner and quick on my feet… After 3 days of working, I have developed a procedure sheet for the front desk, so that the next person that gets hired won’t be stuck like I was… I also re-vamped their appointment book so it makes more sense and is legible… I’m also in the process of re-organizing the front desk so that anyone who works up there can find stuff without too much trouble… Yeah, I don’t think that they expected someone like me to work there…

My co-workers are mostly OK… one of them bugs the shit out of me and he is just such a sycophantic, brown-noser that it makes me ill… The other guy that I have worked with a few times is super cool and his sense of humor is really similar to mine… He watches a lot of anime (He attends Sakura-con, apparently) and so we have that to chat about… I loaned him the DVD of Mai Otome that GD made for me so he could try it out and he is going to burn me a few samples, too… I obviously need to beef up on my anime if I am going to flirt with him effectively *grin*

Other than that, Doug and I have been hanging out with our friends Jeb and Kaci more… Kaci is learning how to play VTES, which is awesome, so we’ve been seeing a lot of them to get Kaci familiar with the game… Turns out that Kaci is worse than me when it comes to stalking people on line… She has managed to unearth all of my journals including my super secret LiveJournal… Luckily all of the REALLY interesting posts are under a friends-only lock, so she didn’t read any of that… whew!!

April 16 at 11:30 AM — TeaZone in NW Portland!! I am planning on going out for their High Tea and would love to have a bunch of people attend with me… Even if tea is not your thing (like my would-be friend, Rob), they have some really yummy sounding food and it’s a chance to chat with people and hang out :) You can find out more info (Like what is on the menu by visiting the event website — If you want to go, let me know either via comments or email!! I will make reservations and we can coordinate meeting up!! I really want to go to this with friends (or future friends, Rob *grin*), so PLEASE have pity on me and attend… Thank you! *smile*

That’s it… I am outta here for now! Gotta go and drive home so I can go to my other job… Yippee!!

OK, so maybe this won’t be funny to everyone… I just find it amusing for a number of reasons…

I was at the Washington Square Mall last week and I noticed that they were building a new store in the mall and I was terribly excited to see that it was going to be a Sony Style Retail Store (AKA A Sony electronics gadget store)… I called Lilith to tell her that maybe Angst would like to apply for a part time job there… I thought nothing more of it until a few days later…

A few days later, I was chatting with someone at work and I said something about missing the days that I worked in retail and a little lightbulb popped on in my head… I could apply for a part-time job at the Sony Store! Not only would I get to work retail again, but I could get a discount on the Sony gadgets that I want!! I could get a PSP for cheap!! Yippee!!

So I chit chatted at Lyse about the idea on Tuesday for a little bit and then went on line and filled out the online profile and application… It took me a while cause they ask for a lot of stuff, but I eventually got it all filled in on Wednesday morning and I sent it in…

Thursday afternoon, I got a call from the Assistant Manager and we scheduled an interview for Friday (today)… I just got back from the interview and it went really well… The Assistant Manager told me that he wasn’t sure if the Manager would want to interview me first, but that he was recommending me for immediate hire… I would either be getting a call to have a second interview with the Manager or the call would be to schedule my drug and background test… Hee hee!!

Now the part that I find funny is the fact that I am not really looking for a job — this is just something that sounds like fun and would have nice benefits — and yet I found one with minimal effort and in only 2 days… I’m fairly certain that if I had said that I wanted a full-time position, I would have been in the running for it…

Like I said, I thought it was funny, but I think the people who are currently looking for a job might not be as amused… Sorry!! If I had known this was as hot of a job lead as it turned out to be I would have let more people know about it!

I thought this was cute and terribly inaccurate test about me… but that’s OK… I liked it anyhow :)

You can see the results of my test here

I heard the song “Tear You Apart” by She Wants Revenge this morning on the radio and even though I only heard it once, it stuck with me the whole day…

How can I not love a song that speaks to me so clearly…

He wanted to do things to her – it was making him crazy
Now a little crush turned into a like
And now he wants to grab her by the hair and tell her

I want to hold you close
Skin pressed against me tight
Lie still, and close your eyes girl
So lovely, it feels so right

I want to hold you close
Soft breasts, beating heart
As I whisper in your ear
I want to fucking tear you apart

*shiver* How delicious… Just the purity of intent in the phrase “I want to fucking tear you apart”

They’re playing in Portland on March 11… maybe I’ll go! Anyone wanna come with?

Kylanath pointed me toward the opposite of the Johari Window that I did… It’s called a Nohari Window… It is basically to find out your weak spots or bad things about yourself…

I want you all to do this one too and DO NOT put your name!! I want ya’ll to be honest and if you had to put your name you might not be, so keep it anonymous and let me know my weak points, please! Otherwise how will I grow and change?

If you put your name, that’s fine, too but I don’t want anyone to feel that they HAVE to identify themselves… Seriously…

Please?

Kylanath had this quiz on her site and I am never one to back down from a challenge *grin* I think it was my distrust and dislike for the government that put me on the crew… plus my willingness to get violent and harbor fugitives *laugh*

Well, if the Masses are Mass Murderers, maybe *grin*

My friend Jeb suggested via Netflix that I watch a Japanese movie called “Battle Royale“… He got me to add it to my queue by writing a review that went a little something like this…

Did you like Running Man, but thought it would be better if it was bloodier and it was kids instead of criminals?

How could I resist? *grin*

The movie has somewhat cheesy special effects (some are worse than others), very little in the way of character development and a philosophical message that gets garbled behind some crappy subtitles… But don’t let those things prevent you from watching the movie! Watch it for the general fucked-up-ness of it and the very cool idea of teenagers slaughtering each other *grin* I think what really made this movie watchable for me was the utter unfairness of it all… most of these kids weren’t BAD — their class was just chosen at random… the kids all get “weapons” when they are released into the wild — some get cool things like an uzi or a crossbow or a shotgun or grenades.. others get not as cool things like a hatchet, nunchakus, a stun gun or a sickle… and still others get utter crap like a pot lid or a megaphone… Isn’t that just deliciously fucked up?

I think that Geoffrey would enjoy this movie a lot just because of how twisted it is… I think GreyDuck should avoid this movie because of the gore and violence… I think Lilith would enjoy making snarky comments about it as she watched it *grin* I think Angst would enjoy it just so she can imagine teaming up with her friends and slaughtering other teenagers…

It just goes to show that Japanese people are fucking crazy.

Tee hee!

Doug and I have a new crush… We watch a lot of E! channel (Yes, we’re lame *grin*) and they have a new show called #1 Single… It is a reality show featuring musician Lisa Loeb and both Doug and I want to get to know her a little better *wink wink nudge nudge*

She reminds me of Tristan Taormino which makes her doubly hot… At least to me *grin*

And I am still working on hooking up with two different people in the Chicago area… We’ll see how that all pans out…
