OK, actually, I don’t know if I would be a rock star since I never actually took the microphone – but when the group I was hanging out with was playing SingStar on the PS3 (it’s actually a PS2 game, though), I knew more of the songs and could sing them better than the other people actually singing them… It was hilarious to listen to two people singing the same song, but they were a half beat off from each other and several beats off of the actual song… and listening to them try to make their pitch match the game was HILARIOUS… I actually did spit water on the host at one point because I was laughing so hard (Sorry Shaun!)…

Even though no one I know will play this game with me, I totally want SingStar now… It’s the Asian in me, I’m sure :P

Sorry it’s been so dreadfully dead here… If anyone is still reading my Thingie, I’d be shocked… I am Teh Worst Blogger Evaaaaar!!!!!! Seriously, I get distracted way too easily… Here are a few highlights from the last several weeks (In reverse order since it’s easier that way)…

I started playing this kick-ass on-line multi=player game thing… It’s called The Dead Awaken and it’s a zombie vs humans game… pretty simple and no downloads or anything… You can be either a zombie or a human and you can buy weapons and armor… Humans and Zombies use different equipment… Humans use weapons ranging from a Broken Bottle to cool stuff like an Improvised Flame Thrower and armor ranging from Sunglasses to Riot Gear… Zombies use weapons like a Coin-Filled Sock all the way up to Dynamite… The Zombie armor ranges from an Eyepatch to Plate Mail…

You can do fun stuff like dig up graves at the graveyard and explore the abandoned portions of the mall… If you want, you can get into fights with other real players, though the interaction is limited to clicking on their name and clicking “Attack”… You can train up on various skills and attributes and stuff like that… The games currency is dollars, but the REAL power is through collecting heads and earning hearts… You collect heads via the Graveyard and the Mall and you can earn hearts by visiting marketing websites or donating…

Anyhoo, it’s a lot of fun and I can play it at the mall job, so that helps pass the time there… The nice thing is, you are limited to how much you can do in a day by your stamina so it forces you to take 2 or 3 hours breaks, which is nice… I am still a sucky n00b, but I’m trying *grin* If you click on the link in this entry or on the link under “Pimping” you can get me some referral credits, but no pressure *grin*

Speaking of the mall job, apparently I am doing a pretty good job of being a valuable team member… My ability to be a concierge AND a salesperson is putting me in good stead with the manager plus it gets me the bonuses for warranty sales and stuff… Scary thing is, if my store makes its various goals every quarter, the store bonuses add up to over $1000 per person (though as a part-timer, I may not get as much as other people)

There’s some other stuff going on, but I think I’ll save that for another post…

I got the game Katamari Damacy and I totally love it… The bad news is that it does not love me… And I am not talking about the usual “I suck at this game, therefore it does not love me”… I don’t suck TOO much at the game, but I can’t play it for very long, no matter how much fun I am having…

I am not prone to motion-sickness at all, but this game makes me sick, literally!

I played it for about 90 minutes on Friday and at the end, my head hurt so bad that I thought I was going to throw up… I know I should have stopped earlier, but I was very close to finishing the 5th star and I didn’t want to quit til I was done… It took a long night’s sleep to recover and even the next morning, my head was still a little tender…

I have learned my lesson!! No more than 60 minutes of Katamari Damacy!

Apparently, I talked in my sleep in front of Doug for the first time this weekend… what did I say?

“Bye! Thanks for coming in!”

I was dreaming about my Sony job… *laugh* I am so lame!!

This weekend was beautiful as far as weather goes… I had to work both days, but it was still nice… I also used my employee discount finally! I got a universal remote, some screen cleaner and batteries… Hella good price on everything! I do like my job… Thankfully there are only 2 people that I don’t like…

I made cookies this weekend and took them in and that was fun… I made chocolate chip cookies and molasses spice cookies and they went like hotcakes… I brought in about 5 dozen cookies and they were gone in 2 days… funny thing was, someone was hoarding the cookies! They put about a dozen in a ziploc and shoved them to the back of the fridge and the guys found them last night and ate about half of them *grin* That made me laugh…

In Video Game news, I finally started Harvest Moon: Magical Melody and it is SO fun! I have 2 pieces of property and a chicken coop and a barn with a cow and a horse… I also have a dog and a pig! I am getting better at stuff, so it is becoming more fun, which means I want to play it more… a deadly combination!!

All right, I am done posting now…

Bye! Thanks for coming in!

Just when you thought it was safe to assume that I would be too busy working to do anything fun… It turns out that I am not too busy working… I am too busy working AND playing Kingdom Hearts 2 =P

Yes, kids, I finished Atelier Iris last night! Finally! It took 60 hours, but it was worth it… It was a really fun game and I will probably hold on to it in order to play it again in the future… However, this means that I now have time to play Kingdom Hearts 2… Oh woe is me!! And by time, I mean that I will have an hour a night after I get home from the mall to veg in front of the TV before I have to go to bed to prep for the next day…

So, yeah… I’ll be neck deep in Disney cuteness in a few days… I am, however, going to make time on Sunday at Noon to go to the TeaZone for High Tea! Yippee!

Maybe I’ll even see people who read my Thingie… I am not holding my breath, but it’d be nice *grin*

After about 4 years of playing this game off and on, I FINALLY finished Azure Dreams… I have literally been playing this game since 2002 and I have only just now finished the damned thing…

It’s a fun game and I love it, which is why I keep going back to it… And now that I have finished it, I can keep playing in free-mode so I can keep fighting monsters and junk… Yay! Me and my 7 girlfriends in the game think that is a fabulous idea… tee hee!!

I just found out that they are releasing another Azure Dreams, but this time on the Nintendo DS!! Woo hoo!!!

Speaking of games for my DS, I am totally excited to find a copy of A Boy and His Blob on the DS… I loved this game when I played it on the Nintendo system way back when… I just love retro games *grin*

Gods, I am such a fucking geek *laugh*

Doug and I stopped by this little game store in Newberg this weekend to check in with some people who might be joining us for some Vampire: The Eternal Struggle action… We didn’t make contact, but I did get to make 2 SUPERIOR buys at the store!

I got another 4-disc set of Firefly! It was in their used section for $14 and it looked to be in pretty good shape — certainly good enough for $14!! I now have a loaner set that I can use to get more people addicted to my favorite show!!

The other purchase I made at the store was a PS2 game called Red Ninja: End of Honor… I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!! It probably won’t appeal to most people, but I love it… It reminds me of Metal Gear Solid, but with Ninjas instead of a military guy… You get to sneak around and kill people in a variety of ways and the violence is all done in a very Japanese Samurai movie kind of way, so it’s got excessive amounts of blood fountaining out of everyone in a very not realistic way…

My favorite feature of this game is the Seduction Kill… It involves your scantily clad little ninja girl hiding around a corner and sexually enticing a guard to come closer… and when he makes his advance to jump your bones, you duck and smash his face into the ground and kill him… It’s so fun!! Some guards don’t fall for it, so it is hilarious to watch her make kissy faces and the guard throws something at her or stabs her…

As an added bonus, you are constantly looking up her very short skirt at her panties… I am sure the gamer boys find it terribly arousing, but I just find it kinda funny…

Monday, Doug and I went out to Gamestop so I could look at things that I should not be buying… I ended up buying the Animal Crossing: Wild World Official Guide and paying for my copy of Kingdom Hearts 2… The AC:WW guide book is rockin’ and so handy!! I love looking at the pictures of the various items you can collect! And when March 29 rolls around, all AC:WW playing will cease for several days while I obsess over Kingdom Hearts 2… Oh, who am I kidding? I will probably play AC:WW while I am in the bathroom or something just so I can continue to play videogames at all times *laugh*

And finally, Doug and I went to Costco and they had some super soft and comfy and warm socks that I was petting and Doug said to get them… I argued against buying them because they were expensive ($9 for 3 pairs of squishy-warm, thermal socks) and Doug looks at me and says, “For MY sake. Please get them!” *grin* Have I mentioned that I love putting my icy cold feet on Doug when we go to bed? *laugh*

I was a naughty consumer this weekend, but I made some excellent purchases!!

Oh! Verbal exchange of the weekend:

Doug (Referring to his Animal Crossing game) : Oh look! My coconuts are growing!
Me (Being a smart-ass): Yes, dear. Now your dreams of becoming a real girl are coming true.

Hee hee!

My name is Mari and I’m a game-aholic.

I know you all know that I loves me my video games… but did you also know that I love board games? and PC games? and internet games? and card games? Ugh! I think the only games I don’t like are mind-games and even those can be giggly fun if I am the one in charge…

My latest obsession is Animal Crossing: Wild World for my DS… not only is it a real time game where you build relationships with NPCs (AKA Non-Player Characters or those computer controlled characters in the game), accumulate items and use those items to decorate your house, dress up your characters and beautify your town — You can also play via the Nintendo WiFi to play with people around the world!! You can make friends with complete strangers! You can buy and sell and trade items! You can customize your character with unique looks and accessories! Did I mention that you can play with complete strangers? Tee hee!

Doug and I could have gotten a wireless internet connection when I was recovering from surgery so that I could work and check emails from my bed… we could have gotten it when Doug was recovering from foot surgery so he could surf the net while he was in bed… But no. It took me getting this game to convince me that I needed a wireless internet connection.

Yes, I am sick.

If you are a regular reader of my Thingie and you play AC:WW, send me your Friend Code and we can hook up!

They say admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery… What if I am willing to admit it, but I am not ready to recover? *grin*

PS – Doug plays this game, too! Tee hee!

You know, when I first found out that people on Neopets would cheat other people out of Neopoints or items, I thought that was pretty sad… Then there are the people that will grossly over-price items and force a false inflation just to make a profit… Turns out that the same thing happens anytime people interact in an environment with an economy…

With Animal Crossing: Wild World, you can play with people over the Nintendo Wi-Fi network and you can visit their towns and see their houses and stuff… but some people are so crazy possessive over their town that they only allow people to come in the gate and do excahnges and stuff because they don’t want people “stealing” their stuff… I mean, my thoughts on it are pretty simple — if things are that valuable in your town, don’t let anyone in at all… Then there are people that will sell items that are available, if you have the time and resources to get them in your own town, at humungous mark-ups to take advantage of the fact that not everyone is willing to “hack” the game to get extra money or items…

I have been looking forward to visiting other people’s towns, but now I am not as eager cause people’s attitudes stink…

I wish I could find more people of a like mind to hang out with on that game… must go investigate…

On a sort of related note, I would just like to re-affirm with the universe and everyone that I understand and appreciate how lucky I am… I have a good life and I am grateful…

Lyse came over and played Monopoly with us tonight… we fed the Lyse dinner and then forced her to play a capitalist pig along with me and Doug… OK, we didn’t have to force… we invited her and she accepted cause she loves the game, too…

Of course Doug was a big buly and killed us with his Hotels on the Yellow Properties and Park Place and Boardwalk… He’s such a meanie!!

I did, however, deny him the pleasure of bankrupting me completely and taking my properties… I formed a corporation with Lyse and we consolidated our holdings… Alas! Even that was not enough to stop the money-hungry juggernaut that was Doug…

*sniffle* Now excuse me while I go to pick up my welfare check

*grin*
