Jerry guilt-tripped me into doing this meme cause I have been so quiet on here… I have to admit that working 2 jobs has seriously cut into my personal time… With the hours remaining after working 8 hours at my day job and 5 hours at my night job, I have to fit in the stuff that I want to do like spending time with Doug, video games, movies and writing in my Thingie…

I’ll post a couple more times today after lunch… A post about our anniversary trip and then a general updates post that will include bits about my upcoming business trip and a fun new game that I found on line…

So here’s that meme… I promise to do what it says!

If you comment I’ll do the following:

1. I’ll respond with something random I like about you.
2. I’ll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I’ll name something we should do together.
4. I’ll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me).
5. I’ll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I’ll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you (or, I will include an icon just for YOU in my reply)
7. I’ll ask you something that I’ve always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal so you can do the same for other people.

There, Jerry. Happy?

*grin*

Since GreyDuck and Lilith did it, you all knew it was just a matter of time before I did it, too…

The Rules:
1. Type in your birthday (minus the year) in the search bar at Wikipedia.org
2. List three interesting facts, two births, and one death that happened on your birthday.

December 1

3 Events:

1835 – Hans Christian Andersen publishes first book of fairy tales

1955 – American Civil Rights Movement: In Montgomery, Alabama, seamstress Rosa Parks refuses to give her bus seat to a white man and is arrested for violating the city’s racial segregation laws, an incident which leads to the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

2005 – South Africa’s Constitutional Court extends marriage equality to homosexual couples.

(I went with events that I actually care about… I know that Hans Christian Andersen doesn’t fit into the civil rights theme, but I loves me the fairy tales!)

2 Births:

1945 – Bette Midler, American actress
1976 – Matthew Shepard, American murder victim (d. 1998)

(Sticking with the civil rights theme, Bette Midler has long been a gay rights supporter and Matthew Shepard was a tragic and involuntary martyr in the cause of bringing homophobia and discrimination to light….)

1 Death:

1947 – Aleister Crowley, English occultist (b. 1875)

(I couldn’t find a good civil rights tie-in, so I thought Aleister Crowley was a good choice *grin*)

I thought this was cute and terribly inaccurate test about me… but that’s OK… I liked it anyhow :)

You can see the results of my test here

Kylanath pointed me toward the opposite of the Johari Window that I did… It’s called a Nohari Window… It is basically to find out your weak spots or bad things about yourself…

I want you all to do this one too and DO NOT put your name!! I want ya’ll to be honest and if you had to put your name you might not be, so keep it anonymous and let me know my weak points, please! Otherwise how will I grow and change?

If you put your name, that’s fine, too but I don’t want anyone to feel that they HAVE to identify themselves… Seriously…

Please?

Kylanath had this quiz on her site and I am never one to back down from a challenge *grin* I think it was my distrust and dislike for the government that put me on the crew… plus my willingness to get violent and harbor fugitives *laugh*

So I saw this on another website and thought I would spring it on you all… It’s called a Johari Window… Just click on 6 words that you think best describe me and then I can find out how what I think of myself matches up with what you all think of me…

It’s interesting and if you want, you can create your own Johari Window… It’s kind of interesting and fun… interpreting it can take a bit of thinking, but once you figure out what it’s saying, it makes a lot more sense…

So do it, please! Tell me what you think of me *grin*

I stole this from Angst’s LiveJournal… It’s a different kind of quiz and I like it…

1. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4.
From “Serenity: The Visual Guide”

And they said, “We believe that this cast belongs on the big screen.”

And “they” were right *grin*

2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can, What can you touch?

A can of Lysol

3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?

Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel

4. Without looking, guess what time it is

6:50 PM

5. Now look at the clock. What is the actual time?

7:58 PM (Whoops! Hee hee!!)

6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?

The TV

7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?

At about 4:30 PM – I was getting the mail.

8. Before you started this survey, what did you look at?

The TV

9. What are you wearing?

A dress and sweater — Work clothes basically

10. Did you dream last night?

Yes

11. When did you last laugh?

About 20 minutes ago, I think

12. What is on the walls of the room you are in?

Really UGLY wallpaper — It looks like I have water damage on my walls, but it’s just the ugly wallpaper…

13. Seen anything weird lately?

Define weird — I have not seen anything noteworthy in the past few days…

14. What do you think of this quiz?

I think it’s fun :)

15. What is the last film you saw?

Brokeback Mountain – Loved it! Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal making out (Rar!!)… Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal snuggling (Yay!!!)… Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal naked (Yum!)… (UPDATE: I don’t know HOW I missed it, but Heath Ledger’s name had been changed to Heather for a while in this answer… I fixed it, but still… ugh!)

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?

I’d pay bills and buy my house and pay off my parent’s house… Afterthat I am not sure what I would do… It would depend on how many millions of dollars I got…

17. Tell me something about you that I don’t know:

I am actually very shy – I only act outgoing and gregarious to hide it.

18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?

I’d make parenting classes mandatory in order to breed — That’s the only thing that comes to mind right now…

19. Do you like to dance?

I like to slow dance

20. George Bush:

is useless.

21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?

A Miracle *grin* If I HAD to pick a name I have no idea… Kethriveris? Portia? River? Inara? Kaywinnet Lee? George? This is yet another reason why I should never have kids…

22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?

Another Miracle! Actually, this one I had picked out ages ago, so it was easy… Maxamillian Takatoshi

23. Would you ever consider living abroad?

It depends on where, but in general – Yes.

24. What do you want God to say to you when you reach the pearly gates?

You were right all along and all the Fundies and other religious zealots were wrong.

25. 4 people who must also do this in THEIR journal:

I am not one to mandate who should do this… but I would like to see what Jerry, GreyDuck, Lilith, PhantomMaster and Rob (from Jalpuna!) have to say…

Well, maybe not the LAST one, but the last one for tonight *grin*

I saw this and thought it was a really neat idea and a fun way to let people be nosy and ask questions if they want and also a fun way to let me be nosy and ask people questions… I edited it to be a Non-LJ question…

The problem with internet relationships: We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something that you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Or don’t ask and wallow in ignorance *grin* I almost wrote “in freakish misery”… heh!

Stolen from LiveJournal again (I am spending lots of time there flirting with an uber-hot guy)

Best Restaurant in your City/Town/Village/Etc.: Hrmm. This would depend on cuisine — If I had to pick one single favorite though… Nonna Emilias… Big food, reasonable prices, yummy as hell…

Best City in the US: Portland, OR… I am a sucker for this city *grin*

Best Food on a rainy day: Campbells Tomato Soup made with milk… It is so yummy!

Best Job you Ever Had: Book-buyer at the Sci-Fi/Comic/Game store… Free books, meeting authors, going to conventions, cheap games and getting paid for it? Hell yes, this was my favorite job…

Worst Job you ever had: Working at Standard Insurance as a CSR under the worst fucking manager alive. He was such a brown-nosing, scuzz-bucket who was prone to favoritism…

Worst Class in College or High School: Any math or science class, except for Biology — I liked Biology…

Best Class in College or High School: Speech/Communications… I loved this class and the teacher (Mrs. Paddor) was the best ever… I miss her!

Worst Movie you have ever seen: Wendigo or Darkness… They were both terrible…

Best Television Show: Firefly, of course *grin*

Worst Food that your Parents ever made you eat: Liver, I think… yeah, I think so… ew!

GreyDuck has informed his faithful readers (of which I am one) that it is National De-Lurking Week, so if you are a reader, come out and say hello!

Delurk, damn you!

As an added incentive, here is a meme that I stole from someone’s LiveJournal and edited to work here:

1. How did you come across my Thingie?
2. Have we ever met in person?
3. Want to?
4. How would I recognize you when/if I DO meet you?
